Sub tuum præsidium is an ancient Christian hymn and prayer dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Parts of the prayer have been dated to the 3rd or 4th century. The hymn is well attested within the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion, the Eastern Orthodox Church and Oriental Orthodox Churches.
We fly to thy protection,
O holy Mother of God.
Despise not our petitions
in our necessities,
but deliver us always
from all dangers
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
